Nutrition:
especially soft insects
Habitat:
Cyrtaspis scutata inhabits groves, woodland edges and especially stream valleys. It needs a certain air moisture. In Southern France (Massif de la Sainte Baume), I observed it along a wooded streamlet with occurrence of the butterfly Laeosopis roboris.
Life cycle:
The adults appear late between late July and late autumn, sometimes even until January. They usually rest beneath leaves of various trees. I tapped them in southern France in most cases from maple (Acer).
Remarks:
In Europe, Cyrtaspis scutata occurs locally in the Mediterranean (Portugal to Balkans). It has been introduced to the Azores (San Miguel island).
