Host plants:
The larvae feed on Lotus, Lathyrus, Vicia, Dorycnium and other Fabaceae. I observed oviposition on Coronilla varia in a habitat of Polyommatus daphnis and on Vicia sp. in Northern Greece.
Habitat:
Leptidea duponcheli inhabits grasslands, scrublands, open woodlands and similar xerothermous places.
Life cycle:
Leptidea duponcheli has probably three generations per year. I observed fresh butterflies and ovipositions of the presumed second generation in Northern Greece (Drama) in the first half of July. The third generation is expected for the end of August and September, the first should fly between April and June.
Remarks:
Leptidea duponcheli occurs disjunct in Provence and then again from the Balkans across Greece to Turkey.
