Nutrition:
The species lives predatorily on small animals (insects, young lizards, etc.).

Habitat:
Blepharopsis mendica colonizes warm, dry semi-desert-like areas with small bushes.

Life cycle:
The adults are found throughout the year. They rest usually well camouflaged on small bushes.

Remarks:
Blepharopsis mendica is distributed in north Africa, Cyprus, Turkey and parts of the arid Western Asia (Iran, etc.). It also occurs on the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura).
