Host plants:
The larvae feed on shoot tips of Populus alba.

Habitat:
Earias vernana inhabits sunny, mostly humid sites of the host plants in warm lowland regions.

Life cycle:
The moths most often occur in two generations between late April and August. In the south there is sometimes a partial third generation whereas in the north alreay the second one is often not complete. The larvae spin the shoot tips and live within this shelter. The pupa hibernates.

Remarks:
Earias vernana occurs only locally in southern and still more sporadically in central Europa eastward to Ural mountains.
But it possibly occurs also in Morocco and Asia Minor.
