Host plants:
Fagus and Quercus.

Habitat:
Pseudoips prasinanus inhabits forests with deciduous trees. It occurs also occasionally in groups of trees in open areas.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly mostly in a single generation from May to July. In warm, lowland areas, a second generation is regularly observed. Then the butterflies fly again in July/August. The caterpillars are usually observed from mid-July until late September or even October. They pupate like the other species of the group (Bena, Nycteola, Nola, etc.) in a boat-shaped cocoon.

Remarks:
Pseudoips prasinanus is widely distributed across Europe and extends to Japan.
