Habitat:
Ephippiger ruffoi inhabits various Alpine habitats such as pastures, meadows, stony slopes, screes with forbs, dwarf-shrub dominated areas etc. between app. 1500m and more than 2300m.
Life cycle:
The adults usually stay on the ground, but rest sometimes also on leaves of forbs etc. They appear between mid-July and October.
Remarks:
Ephippiger ruffoi is endemic to Central Italy and is especially found in the Gran Sasso area and adjacent mountain ridges.
