Habitat:
Anadrymadusa ornatipennis inhabits stony-rocky areas in garigues, rocky slopes, screes, quarries and occasionally also embankments in extensively managed olive groves. Especially the larval development seems to be restricted to those stony spots. In Samos Island I could successfully locate Anadrymadusa ornatipennis' habitats from the view of the landscape.
Life cycle:
The larvae develop in spring between late February or March and May or June. The adults appear in the South (Rodos Island) already from early May, but in Samos Island more from late May or June. Usually they live up to July.
Endangerment factors:
Anadrymadusa ornatipennis is endangered in its preferred lower altitudes (ususally below 800m) by intensification and overbuilding.
Remarks:
Anadrymadusa ornatipennis occurs only on some East Egean Islands approximately from Rodos to Samos and Lesbos and on a small adjacing part of Asia Minor.
