Habitat:
Bucephaloptera bucephala settles in dry, steppe-like grasslands. I observed Bucephaloptera bucephala in northern Greece (around Mount Askio) in very xerothermic pastures.

Life cycle:
The adults appear late, rarely already in early July, most often not until late July to October or even November

Remarks:
Bucephaloptera bucephala occurs in the southern Balkan Peninsula and also outside of Europe (Asia Minor).
