Nutrition:
The species feeds on leaves and small insects.
Habitat:
Barbitistes fischeri inhabits warm dry forests, woody grasslands and scrub.
Life cycle:
Barbitistes fischeri is adult already in June and found until late summer.
Remarks:
Barbitistes fischeri is distributed in the Iberian Peninsula and Southern France to the southern foothills of the Alps.
Hints on determination:
The male has a characteristic appendix on the tip of the abdomen.
