Habitat:
Parnassiana chelmos most often inhabits pastures and other grasslands that are interspersed with small thorny subshrubs (e.g. Astragalus species). It occurs on mountains from about 1200-2100m.
Life cycle:
The animals stay most often within the low-growing subshrubs. Adults appear mostly between late June and October.
Remarks:
Parnassiana chelmos is endemic to Greece and found in a few mountains of the northern Peloponnese (Mount Chelmos and adjacent mountain ranges).
