Habitat:
Antaxius spinibrachius inhabits especially broom-rich, more densely vegetated, extensively managed, partly stony pastures up to about 2400m. It is also found in clearings of pine forest and in similar places.

Life cycle:
The adults climb dwarf shrubs for sunbathing. Otherwise they live near the ground below the bushes. In strong insolation they are very active. Oviposition has been observed into the soil.

Remarks:
Antaxius spinibrachius occurs locally in central and northwestern Spain and in northern Portugal. It has supposedly been introduced to Madeira and also locally to W-France.
