Habitat:
Decticus loudoni inhabits hot and dry grasslands and pasture steppes with changing density of grass and herbaceous vegetation, partly also with spots of open soil.
Life cycle:
Decticus loudoni is adult very early between May and July and dies quickly in summer heat and drought.
Remarks:
Decticus loudoni is endemic to Apulia between Gargano and the southeasternmost tip of Apulia. It is especially found in Alta Murgia national park.
