Habitat:
Tettigonia longispina inhabits higher growing places with Pteridium aquilinum, Rubus or shrubs in mountain pastures above about 1400m in the Gennargentu mountains. I recorded it for example in Rubus thickets. It also occurs in Erica arborea stands.
Life cycle:
The adults appear in summer and autumn. Usually it is the male song that draws attention to a site.
Remarks:
Tettigonia longispina is endemic to Sardinia (Italy) where it occurs only in the Gennargentu mountains. In can easily distinguished from the similar T. viridissima, among others, by the much larger tooth of the male cerci.
