Host plants:
The larvae feeds on grasses, most often probably Eriophorum.
Habitat:
Oeneis jutta usually lives in bogs that bear partially open woodland (especially pine).
Life cycle:
The butterlies occur in June (in the south probably already from May) and still until mid-July. They usually rest on pine trunks. Flushed they search after a short flight another trunk. The larva hibernates twice.
Remarks:
Oeneis jutta occurs around the Arctic in N-Europe, N-Asia and N-America. In N-Europe it extends to S-Sweden, NE-Poland and the Baltic countries.
