Host plants:
The larvae feed on grasses.
Habitat:
Oeneis norna usually inhabits wet zones. It is especially found on a bit rocky slopes in the tundra that bear small streams or wet depressions. There are also records from the transition zones of open bogs and scrub (similar to O. jutta, but scarcer).
Life cycle:
The butterflies fly mostly in July. They rest on stones or trunks. The larva hibernates twice.
Endangerment factors:
Oeneis norna occurs from N- and central Scandinavia to NE-Asia.
