Host plants:
The larvae feed on various grasses like Nardus or Festuca.
Habitat:
Oeneis bore inhabits quite dry parts of the tundra.
Life cycle:
The adults occur most often between late June and mid-July. The males are often found around dry hill tops. The larva hibernates twice: first in the first instar, second when mature.
Remarks:
Oeneis bore has an Holarctic dirstibution. In N-America it is found in isolated mountain colonies southward to Colorado. In N-Europe it is scarce and only found locally in the very north of Russia, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
