Habitat:
Acanthacris ruficornis inhabits many open and semi-open, but warm types of habitat. I recorded it in abandoned land with Inula viscosa, in the vicinity of salt marshes, along rivers, in garigues and also in reeds.

Life cycle:
The adults are found throughout the year. I recorded them in early March 2019.

Remarks:
Acanthacris ruficornis is mainly an African species which occurs in Europe in S-Spain (W-Andalucia west of Gibraltar). I recorded it quite commonly near Cadiz.
