Nutrition:
Plants of all kinds.

Habitat:
Anacridium aegypticum usually lives in light scrubland, but may be generally observed in many types of habitat.

Life cycle:
The adults can be observed from July or August and hibernate until well into May/June. In early summer, the green larvae are often quite common on forbs and shrub.

Remarks:
Anacridium aegypticum is found in the Mediterranean and parts of Africa. It also occurs in parts of southern Asia. To the north it is observed to the southern foothills of the Alps (e.g. in the southern Ticino and Lake Garda), but here it is partly dependent on immigration from the Po Valley.
