Nutrition:
Grasses and herbs

Habitat:
Bohemanella frigida inhabits high alpine, mostly stony meadows and pastures as well as screes around 2000 to 3000m above sea level. The insects live on the ground, where they can absorb the suns heat best.

Life cycle:
The adults are observed from midsummer until the first hard frosts in early October. First snowfalls, however, are still survived well. The eggs are deposited in the ground.

Remarks:
Bohemanella frigida occurs in the Alps and is missing in the small German part. But is quite widespread in central and southern Switzerland, e.g. in the Valais and the Engadine. Outside the Alps it is also found in the Arctic, so in Northern Scandinavia, and in some other high mountains (e.g. Bulgaria).
