Habitat:
Stenobothrus grammicus inhabits dry and warm, nutrient-poor grasslands and especially grassy lime screes and rocky places.
Life cycle:
The adults appear between June and October. They are usually only found very locally.
Endangerment factors:
Stenobothrus grammicus is locally endangered by tourism (e.g. Mont Ventoux), expansion of agricultural land or overbuilding.
Remarks:
Stenobothrus grammicus is found in the Iberian Peninsula and very locally in Southern France (e.g. eastern Pyrenees, Mont Ventoux, Massif de la Sainte Baume, Ste. Victoire).
Hints on determination:
Stenobothrus grammicus can be distinguished from Stenobothrus lineatus (often syntopic) and the closely related Stenobothrus festivus by its light palps which have a distinct dark to blackish tip. Especially the male antennae are terminally expanded.
