Habitat:
Podisma ruffoi inhabits medium-high and high altitudes on Monte Terminillo (Monti Reatini) where it is especially found in pastures with low rock portion and much juniper. In rockier places it is partly displaced by Italopodisma ebneri. But both species are sometimes found in the same site.But Podisma ruffoi is more local and scarcer than the widespread I. ebneri.
Life cycle:
The adults appear in summer and autumn and may be abundant in their few colonies.
Remarks:
Podisma ruffoi is endemic to the Monti Reatini (namely Monte Terminillo) in central Italy (Rieti).
