Dociostaurus maroccanus (Thunberg, 1815)

Habitat:
Dociostaurus maroccanus inhabits dry, sandy or rocky surfaces such as coastal areas and mountain slopes up to 1800m above sea level, or rarely even higher.

Life cycle:
The adults appear between June and October.

Remarks:
Dociostaurus maroccanus is found only in Southern Europe. It also occurs in north Africa. In comparison to other Dociostaurus species the animals are larger and have longer wings, which extend beyond the hind knees significantly.
