Habitat:
Platycleis orina inhabits dry and warm sites such as garigues, pastures, grasslands, woodland edges, embankments and mountain slopes up to at least 1900m. It needs at least partially dense vegetation, e.g. grass tussocks.
Life cycle:
The adults appear mostly between July and October, but in lowlands already from June. The animals are well camouflaged in dense dry grasses.
Remarks:
Platycleis orina occurs in the western Balkans from Croatia across Albania to Greece (western part of the mainland and Peloponnese).
