Habitat:
Platycleis stricta inhabits sparsely vegetated dry grasslands and pastures up to app. 1700m that are usually interspersed withs rocks, mosses or lichens.
Life cycle:
Adults occur between July and October. They usually stay on the ground, but sunbath especially in the morning sun sometimes also some decimeters high on stones or plants.
Remarks:
Platycleis stricta occurs in Italy (except the Nortwest) and large parts of the Balkans (except most of Greece). It is quite abundant e.g. in Central Italy or Istria.
