Habitat:
Poecilimon elegans inhabits extensively managed meadows, pastures, fallow land, woodland edges and scrub with higher growing herbal vegetation.
Life cycle:
The adults appear mostly between June and early August, in higher altitudes and in more humid habitats even later or - in lowlands - already from May. The animals are usually found on forbs (food).
Remarks:
Poecilimon elegans occurs from NE-Italy across the northern part of the Balkan Peninsula to Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria.
