Habitat:
Poecilimon propinquus inhabits open and semi-open, traditionally managed habitats of all kinds up to more than 1700m (Mount Dirphys on Euboea). Important are herbaceous plants and/or small shrubs. Especially typical are broad road side verges, woodland margins or grazed slopes.
Life cycle:
The adults live in spring between late April and July. In higher altitudes I recorded still only larvae around 19/May/2022 (Dirphys), but mostly adults below 800m. In the lowlands Poecilimon propinquus should have finished until ealy or mid-June, according to heat and drought. The animals are usuallyn found on herbs or small shrubs. In optimal habitats they can be very numerous.
Remarks:
Poecilimon propinquus is endemic to Greece and is found there only in a small area from the island of Euboea across Athens region and the Gulf of Corinth to the northeastern part of the Peloponnese.
