Habitat:
Omocestus petraeus inhabits stony dry grasslands with open soil, pastures, garigues and very open woodlands (e.g. Quercus pubescens) with at least partial very low-growing vegetation.

Life cycle:
Adults usually appear between June and October. They are overlooked easily due to their small size.

Remarks:
Omocestus petraeus occurs especially in SE-Europe. It is sometimes quite abundant, e.g. in Croatia. It is further recorded for example in parts of S-France where it rests a quite local species.
