Nutrition:
The species feeds on grasses and rarely herbs.
Habitat:
Omocestus simonyi lives in at least partly grassy areas, mostly in the backland up to 700m above sea level.
Life cycle:
The adults are found throughout the year, especially from March to the middle of summer.
Endangerment factors:
Omocestus simonyi is endangered locally by the extreme tourism (land consumption) and generally by overgrazing by goats.
Remarks:
Omocestus simonyi is endemic to the eastern Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Lanzarote).
