Habitat:
Omocestus bolivari inhabits low-growing mountain pastures, Alpine moors, gappy broom heaths and similar places usually above 1800m (rarely also lower down) and up to 3000m.
Life cycle:
The adults appear in summer and autumn. In the Sierra Nevada I recorded them in some places in a bit higher altitudes and on less rocky but more humid ground than the common Omocestus minutissimus.
Remarks:
Omocestus bolivari is endemic to the more eastern part of Andalusia and is especially found in the Sierra Nevada and in a fe neighbouring mountain ranges. O. femoralis (e.g. Sierra del Segura, Sierra de Maria and Sierra de Espuna) occurs further to the east.
