Host plants:
The larvae live in the rootbeets and stems of Apiaceae like Heracleum and other genera.
Habitat:
Dasypolia templi inhabits most often grass-rich, open woodlands which are interspersed with open, herbaceous spots, preferredly in mountainous regions.

Remarks:
Dasypolia templi occurs in Central and parts of Northern Europe and temperate Asia, but is also found especially in the mountains in Southern Europe.
