[N]

Host plants:
The caterpillars live on oak species, e.g. Quercus pubescens, Q. robur and other deciduous species.

Habitat:
Minucia lunaris colonizes warm and most often dry oak forests, especially edges and sparse bush forests (maquis).

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly depending on the locality from late March to June. The caterpillar lives from late April to July. In 2011, I found it in the Provence already in late April in addition to the already often worn moths.

Endangerment: endangered

Endangerment factors:
Minucia lunaris is endangered especially north of the Alps due to the decline in warm, light oak woods with young shrubs.

Remarks:
Minucia lunaris occurs from Northwest Africa across Southern and Central Europe (local north to southern Sweden) to Asia Minor.
