Host plants:
Polyphagous.

Habitat:
Graphiphora augur colonizes meso- to hygrophile habitats, especially open forests and lake or river shores.

Life cycle:
The caterpillar overwinters half-grown and pupates in April/May. Moths are on the wing between June and August.

Remarks:
Graphiphora augur is missing in southernmost Europe and occurs in warm areas more into the mountains. It is widespread Holarctic and found besides in Europe also in Asia to Japan and North America.
