Host plants:
The host plants are still poorly known so far. Supposedly oviposition occurs on oak and the young larvae and at least a portion of the older ones live on oak.
Habitat:
Mesogona acetosellae inhabits sunny, open oak woodlands, steppes, nutrient-poor grasslands and dry slopes with oaks and scrub as well as similar dry and warm places rich in groves and edges.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in autumn (especially September and October). The larvae live in spring (April/May).
Remarks:
Mesogona acetosellae occurs from S- and Central Europe across temperate Asia at least to the Altai mountains.
