Ticino 2012) [S] Camptogramma bilineata: The adaptable species inhabits for example such grassland remnants along forest edges (Swabian Alb, April 2012, larvae on Galium). [N]

Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on herbaceous plants. I found them especially on Galium album.

Habitat:
Camptogramma bilineata inhabits nutrient-poor grasslands (especially partially bushy limestone juniper slopes), forest edges, humid meadows and other extensively managed areas.

Life cycle:
The caterpillar overwinters. I observed it pretty steady in March and April in limestone grasslands in the base of sprouting Galium. Camptogramma bilineata produces a single ore more often two generations per year. Most moths fly in the Swabian Alb in June and early July.

Endangerment factors:
Camptogramma bilineata has declined at least north of the Alps due to the disappearance of extensive structures. But it is still quite common at appropriate sites like grasslands.

Remarks:
The distribution extends from north Africa across Europe to the Altai.
