Host plants:
The larvae feed on groves of the rose family. I recorded larvae on Pyrus spinosa.
Habitat:
Nychiodes amygdalaria inhabits garrigues, maquis and open woodlands with the host plants.
Life cycle:
According to the region Nychiodes amygdalaria flies in one or two generations between mid-May and September. I recorded the hibernated and in the meantime mature larva in late May on Lesbos island.
Remarks:
Nychiodes amygdalaria occurs locally and rarely in the southeastern Balkans (southern part of North Macedonia, S-Bulgaria, NE-Greece, Crete, some east Aegean islands) and across Turkey to the Levant, Transcaucasia and Iran.
