Host plants:
The caterpillar lives polyphagous on deciduous wood. I found them on the Swabian Alb on Quercus.

Habitat:
Plagodis pulveraria inhabits deciduous forests of all kinds and other locations which are dominated by woody plants.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths fly mainly between April and August in two generations. In higher and cooler areas often only a single generation occurs from May to early July. The caterpillar is found especially in August, but lives in total from May to early October.

Remarks:
Plagodis pulveraria is widespread in central and Eastern Europe as well as in temperate Asia. To the south, it occurs to Northern Italy and in the north to the Arctic Circle.
