Host plants:
I recorded the larvae only on Noaea mucronata (Chenopodiaceae) in Cyprus. But according to literature they should be polyphagous and use e.g. also Asteraceae.
Habitat:
Anarta dianthi usually inhabits dry and hot habitats like steppe grasslands, dunes, salty places or garigues.
Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The moths occur from February (e.g. Cyprus), but mostly April to autumn. The following generations are usually not complete, especially in summer. The larvae I found in mid-April 2017 (Cyprus) resulted partly in moths without pupal dormancy, but other pupae aestivated.
Remarks:
Anarta dianthi occurs in S- and SE-Europe (in the Southeast to E-Austria) as well as in parts of Asia (e.g. Asia Minor) to Siberia.
