Rhyacia helvetina (Boisduval, 1833)

The larvae are polyphagous on herbs.

Habitat:
Rhyacia helvetina colonizes alpine pastures, meadows and stony, rocky areas.

Life cycle:
The moths fly in July and August. The caterpillar overwinters and is mature until June.

Remarks:
Rhyacia helvetina occurs in Central Europe only in the Alps and there only locally, but not too rare in its localities.

Rhyacia helvetina occurs from Morocco across the higher mountains in Southern and Central Europe to Kazakhstan and Iran.
