Habitat:
Xylocampa mustapha inhabits bushy slopes, open woodland and maquis.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in early spring (late February to April) and larvae develop from April to May or early June.
Remarks:
Xylocampa mustapha occurs in southern Italy (ssp. italica and then possibly (further examinations necessary) very locally in the Balkans (e.g. Croatia) and in the subspecies hethitica Kober & Pinker, 1976 from the eastern part of Aegean Islands (Samos) and Asia Minor eastward. Xylocampa mustapha is also found in NW-Africa (especially Morocco).
