Host plants:
The larvae feed on woody species of Rosaceae, especially Crataegus, Prunus and Pyrus.
Habitat:
Allophyes alfaroi inhabits open woodland and scrub of all kinds.
Life cycle:
The moths occur in autumn (October to December). The egg hibernates and the larva lives from March to May/June (according to altitude).
Remarks:
Allophyes alfaroi occurs on the Iberian Peninsula and a small stripe north of the Pyrenees in France (transition zone to Allophyes oxyacanthae).
