Host plants:
The caterpillar lives on woody Rosaceae, especially Prunus and Crataegus. I found the caterpillar in Sardinia on Crataegus.
Habitat:
Allophyes corsica inhabits forests, woods and other shrub-rich terrain. I found the larvae in fairly shady undergrowth of a well-developed holm oak forest at 1000m above sea level (Montiferru).
Life cycle:
The egg overwinters. The caterpillar lives from April to June. I observed them half-grown in the second half of May 2012. The moths emerge in October and November.
Remarks:
Allophyes corsica is endemic to Sardinia and Corsica.
