Host plants:
Grasses.
Habitat:
Deltote deceptoria inhabits nutrient-poor grasslands such as limestone juniper grassland or rocky slopes. In addition, it is found more rarely in extensive meadows and more often in forest fringes or in clearings.
Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates and the moths fly in a single generation from May to July. The caterpillars live quite concealed from July to September.
Endangerment factors:
Deltote deceptoria is not particularly vulnerable.
Remarks:
The distribution ranges from France across Central Europe (absent in the north and in most areas of the Mediterranean) to the Urals.
