Host plants:
Vaccinium myrtillus and Vaccinium uliginosum. I found a caterpillar in the Simplon region at 2100m above sea level on bilberry and many larvae in Schwäbisch Gmünd and in the Black Forest on Vaccinium myrtillus (May 2012).
Habitat:
Eulithis populata inhabits Vaccinium-rich forests, bogs and alpine dwarf shrub belts.
Life cycle:
The egg hibernates and the caterpillar is recorded from April to June, in the high altitudes even in July. The moths fly from mid-June to mid-September.
Remarks:
The distribution is Holarctic (North America, Europe, Asia).
