Host plants:
The larvae are polyphagous. In spring, I met them quite often on Galium species.
Habitat:
Noctua comes is an ubiquist which occurs almost enaywhere where herbs grow under more extensive conditions.
Life cycle:
The caterpillar overwinters and is found most often from late March to early May. The adults appear in summer and early autumn, mostly from June to mid-October.
Remarks:
Noctua comes is widespread and common in Europe. It also occurs in Western Asia and North Africa. It was introduced in North America.
