Host plants:
The larvae often feed on Euphorbia species, but according to literature also on other herbs such as Rumex and Asteraceae.

Habitat:
Simyra nervosa inhabist nutrient-poor grasslands, dunes and mosaics with wet meadows and more dry, partially sandy places.

Life cycle:
The pupa hibernates. The adults occur in mostly two generations between April and August. The larvae are observed between mid-May and early October.

Endangerment factors:
Simyra nervosa is local and often rare. It obviously needs larger intact habitat or a network.

Remarks:
Simyra nervosa occurs locally from northern France across northern and northeastern Germany and Poland to Russia. In the south it is found from Northern Italy (isolated also in Sicily) across the Balkans to Asia Minor and further in Asia across Iran and Afghanistan to Korea.
