Host plants:
The generally polyphagous larvae prefer Lamiaceae and Asteraceae. In Sardinia (Oristano) I recorded them only on Sonchus.
Habitat:
Thysanoplusia daubei inhabits wetlands, arable land, gardens and other places with mild winters (no frost) and herbaceous vegetation. As vagrant Thysanoplusia daubei may appear outside its more or less permanent range, but usually not North of the Alps (perhaps possible by introduction).
Life cycle:
Thysanoplusia daubei flies in continuous broods if the conditions are favourable. In S-Europe it occurs in at least 3-4 generations between spring and late autumn. I recorded larvae in all instars in ealy October 2018 near Oristano. They quickly developed to the moths. During summer drought Thysanoplusia daubei is pushed back in reproduction to irrigated places and wetlands (e.g. along rivers).
Remarks:
Thysanoplusia daubei occurs in S-Europe (e.g. Spain, S-France, S-Italy, S-Greece, Mediterranean Islands), S-Asia and Africa.
