Host plants:
The larvae live polyphagously in the herb layer.
Habitat:
Yigoga forcipula inhabits dry and warm, stony mountain slopes and similar habitats.
Life cycle:
The larva hibernates. I recorded it under stones in the Ida mountains in Crete in 1600m asl in early May 2013. The moths are on the wing between June and August.
Endangerment factors:
In Central Europe Yigoga forcipula is heavily endangered due to habitat loss, e.g. agricultural intensification like expansion of viticultures (e.g. Valais).
Remarks:
Yigoga forcipula occurs from N-Africa across southern and locally also Central Europe to Western Asia (e.g. Turkey).
