Host plants:
The larva feeds on Juniperus, especially Juniperus communis.
Habitat:
Eupithecia pusillata inhabits juniper stocks of all kinds (limestone grasslands as well as acidic heathland) and also dry open forests with Juniperus.
Life cycle:
The eggs overwinter and the caterpillar can be found from mid-April to mid-June. The moths fly from July to September.
Remarks:
The distribution extends across large parts of Europe and temperate Asia to Siberia.
